“Heating Things Up in the Bedroom”

Kelsey shares, “DIY fireplaces are one of the easier high impact projects made up of mostly 2x4s and drywall! Perfect for a boring wall or to add ambiance to a space. Of course I added some extra details to mine with an arch, tile and DIY mantel. Can you believe how cozy it makes my bedroom feel?”

Material prices can vary depending on your location and the quality you choose, so consider this a ballpark estimate. The main structure — just 2x4s and drywall — was super affordable. The bulk of the cost came from the pretty stuff: Tile, mantel, and the only gold electric insert I could find from @touchstonehomeproducts. (Worth it!).

I didn’t include the electric fireplace insert in the total since those can range widely depending on size, type, and fancy features."
